Where do I drop my student off for an in-person art camp?At my home art studio located in Central Tacoma. I've got my dining room set up as my art studio, so seating is limited to eight students. I provide all art supplies and a light snack. Be sure to wear clothing that can get messy. Note: There are two resident cats that live at the art studio, so this may not be the place for you if you have pet dander allergies.

Are classes online or in person?Right now, all regular art sessions are taught online, in a Zoom classroom. Zoom meeting codes will be emailed to participants upon registering. There will be some "school's out" workshops offered throughout the school year that I will host in-person art workshops. On days where there is no public school, students can come to my home art studio and create a multi-media process art project.

What will my child do in class?Your child will have fun learning new art techniques, developing specific skills and experimenting with art materials for unique projects. Class always starts with a warmup exercise. This may be a picture book relating to the lesson, a blind line drawing, or a question to ponder. The teacher greets each child by name, introduces the day’s topic and guides the class through the project. We often listen to music while we create. The children are encouraged to share their ideas, and share their work with the class. Kid jokes are a favorite of mine, too.

What art supplies do we need and where can I purchase them? The art supply list is located under the "Classes" page. Art Supply List | The Painted Rainbow (paintedrainbowstudio.com) You can purchase all supplies with a single click from Amazon or find them at local shops. All of these items are high-quality archival art materials made to last. Like cooking, the quality of the ingredients makes a difference! I've listed the brands that I have personally tested, and recommend for students. Students will love using these materials and quickly notice that the paints are more brilliant and the paper is thicker than what they are used to. Teacher Nalani keeps materials costs in mind when creating the projects, and most projects will stay in the basic supply lists. However, there are some sessions that may call for additional supplies.

I have two children who want to register. Is there a discount offered?Yes! I offer a coupon code for families with more than one artist registering for the same class. Promo Code: FAMART10 gives you a 10% discount for both kiddos registering for the same class. This offer may also apply if you invite a friend to join in your same class, but both artists must register together, paying with one transaction.
